Just tried to remove our post, but can't see a way to delete, only to edit, so just disregard the following. We found the section we were looking for! (Duh! We're dangerous with these techno things like webposting! )
We're new to this site and new to posting in general, so what we're searching for is probably right here under our nose somewhere, but we're wondering if there's a section where kids (and parents of kids) who are auditioning for just Theatre rather than Musical Theatre can share audition experiences, info, etc? Really wonderful reading all of the MT posts, learned a lot from the questions and answers. Thank you all so much for sharing your stories. (And congrats to all who have already been accepted to schools!) But since theatre auditions are somewhat different we'd really love to read about those. Our D has auditioned for VCU only so far, and was accepted! She auditions for Shenandoah University this weekend, James Madison University next weekend, then CCM, USC, Juilliard, AADA, Roosevelt, and UIC at the Chicago unifieds in February. Any info regarding theatre auditions/experiences for any of those schools would be very much appreciated. Or if someone can just direct me to the Theatre thread? Thanks!

I am curious. My S is only a Junior, but we are narrowing our list. Does the program inform you re: acceptance/rejection shortly after the audition season is over, or are decisions made later in the Spring? Thanks

Brian, I think that the answer to your question depends on the school. Some schools seem to inform auditioners within a few weeks to more than a month, and others make you wait until around April 1, when decisions are due. If you look on the acceptances thread on this list, you will see that a number of kids already know where they are going, or at least where they have been accepted. Others have not even auditioned yet.

Point Park seems to routinely notify shortly after audition. Of course their program is a BA upon audition, later the kids audition into the BFA.

Milikin also reports on their website that they give immediate feedback.

A few programs have E.D.
