Theft at Albany? Do they favor Alumni Children?

<p>I want to know how the theft at Albany is, manily with cars. Are there a lot of keying events and taking of rims?</p>

<p>Also, does admissions favor the children of Alumni? Both of my parents attended Albany and so did my Uncle...would this improve my chances?</p>

<p>One last question, can you chose who you dorm with? (ie: me and a friend from high school mutually agree to dorm together).</p>

<p>Theft in Albany is as big a problem as in any small city. If you keep your car on campus you won't have much of a problem (so long as it's locked), but parking on the street is just asking for trouble.</p>

<p>UAlbany does take into consideration Alumni relations but it isn't a substitute for a good GPA/SAT score.</p>

<p>You can request to have a dorm with your roommate (my cousin did and she was accepted)</p>
