Thematic Option

Got an invite for Thematic Option, like USC honors? Is it worth it? Thoughts and opinions?

did the invite for the TO come with the original acceptance or later?

My invite came about a month and a half later. I'm just getting around to doing the app though.

Oh, and in response to the original post, it seems like a really interesting program. The only problem I can see is that it might be too restrictive--it only lets you choose the subjects for two classes out of your GE requirement. I might want more freedom, but I'm going to apply anyway and decide later, depending on whether I choose to actually attend USC.

And if you do choose to attend USC, you will do TO?

I really like the sound of it. It sounds like a great challenge while also not being too hard on grading.

I haven't heard much about the grading difficulty. I think I will do TO if I go to USC--assuming I actually get IN to the program. Too much waiting!

I talked with a current sophomore at USC, and she said she loves TO because it's smaller than normal GE classes and because the best professors on campus teach the classes. Plus, the classes go to events like watching a Shakespeare play or other places. Can anybody who was or is in TO contribute?

If you do take these classes, make sure you get Bowlt and Dappen.

My roommate my freshman year was in it and was always flooded with work, so he practically had no social life. But that's only one case.
