Thematic Options Acceptances post here

So has anyone heard from TO yet? If you applied by March 15th you were supposed to hear by March 31. If so, post when you hear... Good luck!

Accepted/Rejected

Date notified

Does anyone know how we will be notified (i.e. mail or e-mail)? Hopefully the decisions come soon! Good luck to everyone.

Glad this was made. Make sure you bump guys!

They notify by snaillll maillll :/

I don’t know by what date applicants were supposed to be notified in 2008, but my D’s TO acceptance letter was dated April 14th. It came by mail.

Those that applied by March 15th (or I believe the deadline was extended due to technical problems to March 17th) find out by March 31st. I don’t really see how that’s possible though unless they send the letters out Priority Mail (it takes a while for them to reach the east coast). We’ll see though… Hopefully people start hearing Monday.

I live in China, so I don’t know how they’re going to send it here, but I hope I get it soon.

Do you know if they snail mail for international too? Because… that would take like six weeks…

Do you have to be invited to apply, or could have anyone applied to TO?

^Anyone can apply! The first deadline was March 15 (which guaranteed notification by March 31), but I know you can still apply and be notified later.

:(
nothing yet?

Yeah, since no one has heard yet, I really don’t see how we will hear by March 31st. Maybe they will e-mail us this year instead? I know it asked for our e-mail on the application.

I’ll try calling tmrw then

so…it is after midnight…so is the 30th…one more day until the results come out. I suspect they will be via email since they asked for email.

Malik, as anonymityftw says, anyone can apply! Application here: [Apply Now > USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences](http://college.usc.edu/apply-now/)

I am most likely going to apply. TO sounds awesome. But 200 spots only? I am positive I won’t get accepted then…my SAT score is a lot lower than the USC average, let alone the TO average. Then again, I did get a scholarship, and apparently people with scholarships have first priority? Or is that only for Presidential/Trustee winners? I’ll probably give it a shot anyways. Here’s to hoping not many people apply, hahaha.

In particular, we have been told the TO program looks at your SAT W and CR scores (not math!). If you have >1400 in W & CR you are a strong candidate for TO. But anyone who is interested should apply anyway. What’s the harm and you may get in!

has anyone called? if not, i’m going to pick up the phone in a few minutes

At the Explore USC - TO info session I was at, someone asked if they looked at our regular applications when evaluating TO apps. The answer was no; the guy answered that since we were scholarship finalists, they know our grades, scores, etc. are good enough so they are only looking at our written responses on the TO app. Perhaps test scores come into play more often when the applicant is not a Trustee/Presidential Scholar (who DO get priority, to answer your question, @magicalmalk). Even if you guys aren’t scholarship recipients, if the TO program really looks to be something you’d like, then apply! Just because scholarship recipients get priority doesn’t mean you don’t have a chance as well. Good luck!

I heard the same…they only look at your application for TO and not your undergrad application. Would be nice though if they looked at the SAT grades too though. My son applied as a non Presidential/Trustee. He is a Dean’s recipient and has 1570 for CR and Writing. Hope they do inform by March 31 as they said they would!
