I am confused about the info I read in GWU housing page on their web site :

''GW Housing Programs residential house system converts traditional residential halls into theme-based houses which focus on providing academic readiness and character development opportunities. This unique living program is tailored to the individual interests of each of our many, diverse students.''

does this mean that I will have to live in a residential hall where the others are all from my major study area ?
Doesn't this limit my social life ?
Just because I want to major in computer science, does this mean that I will have to live and socialise with other computer geeks all year long ?
Is this really true ?
this does not sound much like advocating diversity to me .

The themes are mostly non existent. However, the Engineering dorm will be heavily weighted with engineers. This is not true for any other theme. The other thing you can keep in mind is that you choice of which theme within Thurston will influence which floor you live on. My year one theme had the top floors while the other theme had the bottom floors. I do not know if this continues to hold true.

I am a CS major and decided not to live in the engineering dorm because I didn’t want all of my friends to be engineers and most of the people I know well have lived either with or near me. That being said I have a lot of friends who lived in the engineering dorm and they all had a great time.
