Hello New Incoming Fall Freshman,

I am sure you are getting very excited about finishing up your High School class work and looking forward to summer and then on to the Fall. You will be hearing from us a few times this summer, so please be sure to check your Cal Poly email account often for our updates.

This first message is about your preference choices for on-campus housing.
We have different housing options for Freshmen and, for this coming Fall, we are implementing some new and exciting program choices into our Connections Halls (Sierra Madre and Yosemite). The new Themed Housing programs are now available for review and selecting!

Please follow the steps below to re-select your housing preferences for next year’s housing:

1. Research the different housing options available to you. After reviewing the different housing programs, please make a note of your choices. The following websites will provide descriptions of our different program areas:

Connections Themed Housing - Live in a Connections Themed tower with other students who have similar interests:
[“Connections” Themed Communities - New for 2012-2013, University Housing, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo](<a href=“http://reslife.calpoly.edu/rl_lco/connections_themed.html]"Connections”>http://reslife.calpoly.edu/rl_lco/connections_themed.html)

[The Honors Community](http://housing.calpoly.edu/honors.html)

2. Between now and Friday, June 1, 2012, please re-access your on-line housing application (thru your http://my.calpoly.edu portal).

3. Re-select your hall preferences. You can choose up to 5 program/hall choices.

Note:
- For those who have previously selected Yosemite or Sierra Madre as a living option, you must now select a “Connections Theme” as your preference.

We encourage all students to re-access the housing application before June 1, 2012, and double-check/review your housing preferences.

You will be able to edit your housing preferences until Friday, June 1, 2012. Editing or re-accessing your housing application will not affect the original date you applied for housing (room/hall assignments are prioritized by the original date applications were submitted).

There are many exciting places for you to live but rest assured, no matter what your “Fall Address” may be, you will be part of a great housing program while making new friends and having experiences you will always remember!

Sincerely,
Preston Allen
Executive Director of University Housing
