<p>Guys, I'm also applying this year, and for all of the other people who are applying and worried about their GPA, check out the stats of these students who recently got in:</p>

<p>not everyone here is as smart as you’d think. anomalies do occur but also those stats could be made up. it’s not the first time someone on the internet lied.</p>

<p>Private/public school is also a consideration. Elite private schools also have higher admit rates for comparable GPAs.</p>

As for caliber of the high school, admittedly I can’t tell.</p>

<p>basically, this just reiterates what the majority of universities already say but you people seem not to listen to: no one part of the application can make or break it. if this person had great essays, interviews, etc. i don’t understand why this isn’t plausible to some of you. colleges aren’t looking for numbers machines, they’re looking for real people who, if they’re interesting and can benefit penn, might be accepted.</p>

<p>(and i’m banking on that for me because my stats look pretty close to this guy’s, but i swear, i do have everything else on my side haha)</p>
