There's only four months left of this decade.

what will the early 2000's be remembered for, pop culturally? i see lil wayne, miley cyrus, and twitter. :|

In addition, I will remember Michael Jackson, ipods, and facebook.

EARLY 2000s should be remembered as the last remnants of pop culture innocence.
seriously.

that was when pop bands could wear navel bearing tank tops without any intention of being suggestive (think Play and A-Teens)
that was when cartoons were still decent, fresh out of the 90s era but still in the same classic concept
when food was food, and not 500 calorie french fries.
when stanford’s early action rate was around 50%.
when asian americans got into colleges easier in general x)
when nobody really knew what an ipod was.
when fashion was just nice jeans and a nice top, not all of this flashy *****.
when computers still ran on Windows 2000 or if you were lucky, XP.
when we played on a gameboy ds and were super psyched one with a backlight was coming out.
when pokemon was still cool, dominating against yugioh and digimon.

and of course all of this changes in the second half of the decade ^^

lmao wow didnt know that

Brit-nay. :D

As for innocence… eh… innocence is overrated.

I’m using XP right now.

yugioh and digimon were early 2000s as well.

The 2000s will be remembered as the rise of the digital age (iPods, Facebook, Twitter, Laptops, Cell Phones etc.), a step across the threshold into a new era (and millennium).

I find it interesting that this decade started on January 1, 2000 but this century started on January 1, 2001.

I’m using Windows 7 right now. :)

But uhh, a lot of things, I guess.

Evolution of internet

MP3 players

Green cars

Bush the junior’s administration

Obama hypnotizing everyone for change

Michael Phelps

Usain Bolt

Recession Depression

etc. etc.

the Wii, going green, dancing with the stars, iPod, touch cell phones, skinny jeans return, myspace/facebook/twitter, finding nemo, etc.

“I find it interesting that this decade started on January 1, 2000 but this century started on January 1, 2001.”

…wait, the century starts at 2001? 0_o

this decade SUCKED. damn it, why wasn’t i living in the '60s or '80s…that would be awesome. hopefully the next decade will be remembered for something other than stupid miley cyrus, george w., & improving technology :expressionless: hehe, we’re going to be in the '10s :P

^ don’t forget the jonas brothers :)

I say it’ll be remembered by…

The Teen Disney star Era. (look at Miley, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez)
Ipods.
Myspace -> Facebook.
MJ’s death
And some raging war that no one really knows anything about

This decade will be remembered as the loss of privacy really. We have our lives exposed on facebook, myspace, twitter. It is the decade when reality shows ruled the airwaves. And it is the decade of the Patriot Act.

Also, this decade will be remembered for tragedies like 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

I remember at the start of the decade Y2k

Going Green is definitely going to be a big memory point. And as for the “Teen Disney Star era”, the 90s could be considered that too (Britney, Justin, Jessica, etc), so I’m not really sure that counts.

Also, “The Decade That Recycled The Eighties”!

how about the first black president, ■■■■■■■.

basically the only person here thinking like a historian…

…besides this person

No, that was just you personally getting older, not a historical trend.

Hopefully not, seeing as this means we still aren’t color-blind.

Well he wasn’t exactly part of pop-culture… so…
