These are my grades...do you think i can get into NYU with them?

My school's gpa is out of 100. I have about an 87.5, which is a B+
I have a 28 ACT score
I'm taking 3 SAT 2's in October
I'm applying Early Decision to the college of arts and sciences in NYU
I have 3 letters of recomendation from my teachers, one from my library boss, i'm working on more
i have 3 AP's this year, and 4 AP tests. I had no other previous AP's.
I am writing, what I consider to be, an above average essay.
I'm a few clubs (not entirely consistent), 2 community service programs, and a bunch of summer jobs and regular jobs.
I also live in NY, I'm pretty sure they favor locals so i guess this helps.

I also want to apply to the ag school at Cornell, BU, GWU, Stony brook, Binghamton, and Albany

Which colleges do you think I'll get into, based on this information?

wow, 12 views and no responses

Im similar to you
im going ed to NYU with a 90-91 and a 1320

i dunno your grades are a little low but so are mine

I hope we get a fair look

this should go in the chances forum. the moderators will probably move it for you.

i think you will get into bu. nyu is probably a high match or a slight reach. cornell is a reach.

If you get 1300 (/1600) on SAT, you should be in okay shape for NYU. My friend got in with a 1800 / 2400 and similar GPA.

How can I get to the chance board?

And what does High Match and slight rech mean?

Unless money is a non-issue, I would not recommend applying to ED to NYU. Based on the stats you presented it will not be a matter of whether you will be admitted, but will you be able to afford to attend.

Unless you are HEOP eligible, your stats as well as metalmoses do not put you in the running for $$ at NYU, you could end up having to foot the whole $50k for NYU with little or no financial aid.

so sybbie719, does that mean you think i'll get in?

money is not a problem, my parents are wealthy

Wow. An 87.5 for me, is a B. A middle range B, at that. Not fairrr

GPA isn't great, and your ACT isn't amazing either

your ECS are weak, you yourelf claiming that youre not consistent in all of them

Cornell: REJECT
The rest are reaches/high matches/unsure
