These chance threads

<p>I can't imagine that you are all really serious about theses chance threads. Not one of you has any idea who will get in and for some of you to be so anxious about getting chanced by a bunch of high schoolers who are competing for the same spots as you are, is simply silly. Anyone who says that someone with a 2340 is a reach at certain schools, other than the usual Ivy League schools are simply silly, unless you have horrendous recommendations or a lousy essay. Everyone needs to relax and just know that whever you go, it will be the right fit.<br>
For those who will go insane over this thread, just list all the percentages of admitted students who were told they wouldn't get in, and those who were rejected, when they were told they were a "match"</p>

Seriously, posts like this come up at least once every few days. Obviously nobody is looking for exact chances, and nobody’s claiming to give it. I agree with you that some chancers are woefully off with their decisions, but like you said, nobody is really serious about these chance threads. Most people are just looking for a little reassurance. If I was really freaking out over a school, and a bunch of people told me “Relax, your grades are definitely within the range”, I’d be a lot less agitated. I obviously wouldn’t seriously be looking to somehow find out for sure whether I’m getting in or not.</p>
