Although I'm only going to be a sophomore in high school this year, I'm really trying to look at colleges in the UK, particularly Scotland. These are basically just mindless dreams, considering HS graduation itself is pretty far away, but I'm just trying to get vibes from these different schools. I'm really looking mainly at the University of St. Andrews, University of Edinburgh, and University of Glasgow. Which are the hardest to get into, the most "friendly", and just general environments? If you have another really good university or college in Scotland, too, feel free to share that as well! :)

I am a UK student. I know about their entry criteria and reputation but not what the students are like. I know some rough information.

Glasgow easiest to get into. It has a good reputation still. Glasgow is a dump. It’s good for nightlife, but not 100% safe. Students vary, most are hardworking.

Edinburgh is hard to get into, but not ultra-hard. It has a great reputation. Edinburgh is an amazing city and good for nightlife. Most students are more “nerdy”.

St. Andrews is by far the hardest and best you have listed. Fantastic reputation. Prince William and the Duchess met here. Many Monarchs send their kids here and is full of the blue bloods of British society. Great academics. Extremely hard to get into. Arguably harder than Oxbridge in some respects. Students are work-focused but there are often parties of a more sophisticated kind.
