I need to write a research paper/analysis of 1984. I need a topic but it CAN NOT be the fear of totalitarian government or like comparing the society in 1984 to society today or like SU and how it's like the 1984 community. Any ideas of what I can write it on please???

Sorry. I haven't read 1984. I intended to last summer, but what a surprise! I didn't!

Write how the totalitarian regime improved society.

nothing about the government directly, she said that's too easy.

Write about newspeak and compare it to political correctness.

How does this one sound to you guys? I decided to do O'Brien

O'Brien's intelligence and knowledge of principles other than Ingsoc make him the ideal teacher for the Party and the perfect doctor to cure Winston and other thought criminals from thinking against Party policies.

Is that okay or is it not opinion enough? I was thinking it could be fought that O'Brien's intelligence would make him more likely to rebel and not be a good teacher. Any ideas on how I could tweak this or is it perfect?

Can anyone just give a thumbs up or thumbs down?

Down!! You said Party twice in that sentence and "think" and "thought" as well.

What if I made the first Party mention "for Big Brother" instead?

It's better, but not the best. Try a catchy phrase. (I haven't read the book so i can't come up with too many good suggestions)- sry.

OK I rewrote it about the glass paperweight. I think it sounds much better and I can write more on it. I'm not gonna post it though because I don't want any thumbs down.
