Do graduate programs in biology care if you wrote a thesis while an undergrad?
How they compare a thesis vs research with no thesis?

I thought senior honors thesis is pretty common nowadays. It would not hurt to put it in your application.

I am not sure where you would put a thesis on a graduate school application -- I guess it could go in the publications section.

I don't know that someone with a thesis would be specifically advantaged over someone who did not write one, since it's such a school-specific thing.

Students at many colleges are given an opportunity to do research and finish it with thesis writing. Don't you think that students who wrote the thesis are better prepared for graduate school and admission people acknowledge this?
I think it shows that student had independent research project.
Wrong?

Senior/Honors theses not infrequently end up as the writing sample. Ideally the thesis topic will have some relationship to what is proposed in the SOP.

I was asking about senior thesis in biology...

Of course the senior/honors thesis is relevant in all fields.

Whether or not the students who write one will be better prepared for grad school depends entirely on how rigorous their program/supervisors are.
