They graded my SAT II wrong!!!

So i took ecology biology in May. When i checked my score i was surprised to see that i got a 580. However, upon further investigation, i noticed the score report said Biology-M. However, I took Biology-E!!! I think that I bubbled in that I was doing molecular but during the test i realized ecology was easier so i took it but never changed that bubble. Is it possible that since I bubbled M that the machine just saw twenty blank spots because i didnt do molecular? I called collegeboard and they said that they could hand grade it but is it worth it?

Well… you kinda need to get it hand graded since it will boost your score by hundreds since it wont be random like it is right now.

You must learn to pay attention, young one! Now, go ahead and pay the $50 rescoring fee and get your real score.

Get the hand scoring. Same thing happened to my son, whose score jumped from 620 to 740 with the rescoring.

…Lol :(

Wait a minute. As I understand it, before answering any questions you are required to commit to doing either ecology or molecular. That is, you are not allowed to change your mind after doing the first 60 questions and realizing that ecology was easier than molecular. But I understand you to say that you changed your mind about which test you wanted to take after the test began. Under those circumstances, I don’t think you should get the benefit of rescoring. Or maybe I’m missing something…

You’re allowed to change your mind.

okay so I bubbled in that i was taking molecular. however during the test when i got to the molecular section i decided to do ecology which was perfectly fine. So i filled out the ecology section of the test. however i never changed the molecular bubble

yeah, i’d say if you want your better score, get the rescore.

although, it would be cheaper to retake the test.

decide whatever you want.
i just think the idea of charging $50 for a 15-second labour of holding your answer sheet up to a transparency is completely daft.

well the thing is that if they handgrade it, how do they know you took the other bio test? They could assume, even though most of your answers will match up with the other bio test, that your wrong answers on the bio-M match up with most of the right answers of bio-E. Its a realy small chance but I dont see how they will be able to tell.

just handgrade it. you spent a lot of time studying for the test, so unless you want to study some more, pay for another one, and just hope you did okay, handgrade this one to see how you did.

You can change. I did all 100 questions and then chose whether I would bubble in E or M.

Wow! You work fast if you did you did all 100 questions in 60 minutes!

100 questions and going back to fill out the test… Personally, I would pay for the rescore instead of the retest. At this point in the year, with AP Biology finished, a lot of concepts are going to slip my mind. And, I wouldn’t want to wake up at 6:30 on a saturday again…
