They gave me Biology E instead of M, so I got a 620!

For Math IIC, I made stray marks that were completely erased, but were strong enough to be caught by the machine; the ones i bubbled in were significantly darker than the stray marks. In fact, the stray marks existed because I bubbled my answers in so darkly. And yes, there were a lot of stray marks. You know how you skip one question but start answering that question after on the multiple choice sheet and all your answers end up wrong? Well. that's what happened for 10 questions or so, and I had to erase them.

What should I do? Can I ask the collegeboard to regrade it by hand? How do I go about doing that?**

They gave you the wrong test? Why didn’t you say anything? How did it get to the point where they graded a test you didn’t sign up for?

I’m pretty sure they scored him/her for E instead of M. They filled in the corresponding questions for M, but was marked as if they took E. Are you sure you marked down which one you wanted to take corectly?

i definitely circled the questions for M, 1-60 and 81-100 because I remember checking over my answers. I’m not sure whether or not I filled out M or E; I remember erasing it and changing it to M. Or did I erase it to E?

Either way, it was graded as an E test, as written on my online account. That must mean they gave me a score considering 1-60, and considering 61-80 as 20 omitted answers.

You have no idea that stray marks were what screwed up your math score, they don’t give you it back and somehow get the machine to tell them what it counted as an answer eye roll

Was there something that asked whether you’re taking E or M? Because if so, the machine did it’s job… they didn’t input anything.

After calling (866) 756-7346, it was found out that:
-the deadline to rescore your test is five months after the exam
-all exams taken on that date will be rescored
-requests will be made in the form you requested for the “hand scoring” (sent to your email within 48 hours after request)
-the form is in pdf and must be sent to the collegeboard address; the collegeboard will receive it in about 2 weeks
-the fee is $50, but if your score increases, then a full refund will be made
-the test will be scored based on the test that you filled out answers for

Just as a heads up, the same thing happened to me with biology E/M
My score went up 100 pts when they regraded, but they didnt refund my money because they said I’d bubbled the wrong test (apparently I bubbled E when I meant M) even though my score increased.
so I wouldnt consider the refund a certainty, but i’d say the extra 100 pts are worth 50 bucks

wait, has anybody ever resent their scores for suspicion of stray marks?
