From 4000 to 1333, one third of the original, what the hell?

You sure that’s not the per-quarter award?

Mine was lowered by this amount also :(

It’s 4,000 over the year

1,333 is what you should be getting per quarter.

<– SMART grant recipient.

^ ^ Sweet.

Thats what I thought too, but everything else on the list was the amount for the whole year! Except Smart grant which is 1333 instead of 4000.

All the pell grants and cal grants were amounts for the whole year, I’m hoping it’s some kind of error. Going to go ask them on Monday.

The other thing I would check is to make sure that the difference wasn’t made up for in some other grant. The only real problem is if your loans went up.

They did. Instead of just one subsidized loan, they offered me a bunch of other loans too.

I really don’t understand why they would possibly lower my smart grant to one third the normal amount, it makes no sense, must be a mistake.

how to apply for smart grant? is it automatic, like when you fill out the fafsa?

jubjub12: I guess so

and mine is still at 4k o_O

Well, the state is kinda broke…

Ok thanks. I dont qualify for the pell grant this year (unlike the last 2 years) and have to pay for EVERYTHING its ridiculous…so you guys are lucky to receive something.

crap mine is 1/3 also… i hope this is another snafu…and not meaning i need an extra 2666 in loans
small price to pay really ;)

boo hoo…at least you get one. stop your crying.

ok so i called the story is this…
its not dropped its gpa dependent so u get it awarded on quarterly basis
so maintain a 3.0 and u will get it.

How come some of the guys above said they still had it at 4000? Hope you’re right though!@!!!

thats what ucsd said maybe these others either are looking at wrong thing…or not ucsd…

Ah that makes sense. I guess this means I should reject those other loans eh?

i took them all : / to be safe…
