i got waitlisted too

I got denied!! haha Pitzer must have had some amazing applicants this year...

i got waitlisted too-- 2320 and a 4.2 W. ahahaha.

Hahaha wow... guess they thought they had enough people from California?? Pitzer is strange...

I was waitlisted too...which is odd since I considered Pitzer to be one of my safeties. I considered CMC to be a reach, and they waitlisted me too...go figure!

Well crud. I guess I'm downright screwed... Maybe the Texas residency will work in my favor this time?

very likely gunadic. i just recently figured out that if you're a cali resident (like me) and you live close enough to a school to easily visit or interview and you dont it looks VERY bad. a friend of mine with stellar stats got rejected from harvey mudd (from which he lives an hour) and when he called they said he had showed absolutely no interest in the school. im guessing pitzer feels the same way, as i never interviewed or visited.

i got waitlisted too with a 2030 and a 3.92. i was like "waitlisted? i got into 8 of the best liberal arts schools in the country and pitzer waitlisted me?" hahaha

Hmmm... Did you list the fact that you were applying to those schools? Sometimes colleges don't like it if they feel like your applying to them as a safety. That seems to be the case for one of my friends. She got wait listed at Dickinson while her grades and extracurriculars say she has a good shot at Swarth.

THOSE WORTHLESS MOTHER F%Ckers. Kids in my school got in who ADMITTED THEY WERE far dumber and less qualified than me. What the hell. USC and Pepperdine are far more selective, and have far better students applying there, and I GOT IN EARLIER THAN MOST. This is retarded. I responded by telling them to "give my money back and go get a horse ***** and insert it into their rectum" (exact words). Lets tell em to go eat ****.

Quite frankly, kobe1federer1, I don't see why your so angry. If you got admitted into USC and Pepperdine, then go there. A college won't admit a student who they think won't attend even if admitted. You, being admitted to USC and Pepperdine which you claim are loads better than Pitzer, have no reason to attend Pitzer.

Anger won't get you anywhere in the world, except maybe into a courtroom for assault.

I also got waitlisted, made it into UNC out-of-state (I'm from Oregon).

I'm not really ****ed or anything, but I'm actually considering staying on the list. I visited last week and absolutely loved it.

did all of you apply to the joint medical program at Pitzer?

Honestly, I had no idea that they had a joint medical program. Nonetheless, I was also waitlisted... I've already told them of my intention to stay on the list. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Small schools have notoriously unpredictable admissions patterns.

Pitzer is not just "the easiest Claremont to get into," nor, for obvious reasons, does it want to be. It has a very distinct atmosphere and a unique educational mission. Someone who's really considered and researched the school should realize that a good student who fits the school's philosophy has a much better shot than a stellar student who clashes with it. There are plenty of very intelligent students at Pitzer, but an applicant who thinks that numbers alone will earn him a spot is quite possibly mistaken.

Seeing admissions decisions on CC, I'm not always sure what Pitzer is thinking. I'm sure that there's a method to the madness, though, and it seems to suit them well.

And Kobe1, all that you're doing for us is confirming the appropriateness of Pitzer's decision.

To the rest of you, good luck in your decisions. And if you do accept a spot on the waitlist, I doubt it's ever too late to start showing serious interest :-)

Thats true... You know, I found out that my admissions counselor at Pitzer is actually an alum of my first choice admitted school (Trinity San Antonio). Small world isn't it.

Really the schools at the top of my list are Trinity and Pitzer, but being a bit of an environmentalist I wish I could go to Pitzer rather than Trinity due to the fact that it seems to be more environmentally conciouss than Trinity.

I just got into the pitzer/ western joint medical program

Don't get mad, you guys- Pitzer's acceptance rate is down more than 10% from last year, and anyway, Pitzer has never been the type of school to admit applicants based solely on their test scores and GPA's.

cantsaythatido- Just out of curiosity, where'd you get that figure? I saw someone else on here reference a similar one, and I just wondered how you knew that. I'm kind of glad I didn't know that before I applied, I would have freaked out even more.
