When I logged on to myBerkeleyApp, I see a section for "forms".

There is one questionnaire about low-income stuff (family makes 20K/year), and one for a letter of recommendation.

What's the deal with this?

Does anyone else see this on myBerkeleyApp?

What's the deadline for these two forms? Are they required?

this mean your being considered for a spring admit acceptance! Good luck! I did the same thing and luckily got in. Take the questionnaire as an extension of your application, get help on answering the questions and make sure you get a really good rec. letter sent. I hear only 50% who get this will get in.

Yeah, like Leftist said, people who receive these requests for supplemental information DO get fall admission also (I was one of them).

However, panchovilla is correct that about ~50% of those who respond to these requests are admitted to Cal. It’s definitely a good thing.

Hi, I got this email as well but for my talent and how I will contribute to Berkeley. Does this mean I am borderline…I have an unweighted 3.6 GPA and weighted 4.1. My SAT score for a single sitting is a 2230 and 720 on both subject tests.

Alright I just got the email that actually asks me to fill in these forms. (I guess they updated their website before sending the actual emails)

I have 10 days to fill in the questionnaire, and the recommendation is optional… I’m definitely going to do both.

I read, somewhere, that this was for “borderline students”. Why then do you guys say it’s a good thing, in this situation?

So this is really a good thing? I have never heard about it. Is there anything else you can tell me about “what this means”?

It can be good because the stats are about 20% accept, 80% reject. This means you are still being considered for acceptance and not rejected.
