Okay, so I'm a current junior at a public high school. (A bad rual pubic high school) I am currently enrolled in Algebra 2 (I know) and wanted to take trig along side of it in order to take AP Calculus my senior year. Apperently, that "isn't allowed." I argued (formally) the teacher saying this is what I wanted to do but it didn't help much. Will not taking AP calc affect my chances at a tier 1 school? Should I take Trig during the summer? Help!!

Honesty trig isn’t necessary for AP calculus, as only trig identities are necessary to learn and they are incorporated into the calculus curriculum. It wouldn’t hurt to take trig over the summer, but try to ask your school if you can bypass trig since it really is not too difficult to take calc without it.
