****! They're changing the SAT AGAIN!?!?!?!?!?!?!

@saif235

Thanks for the advice!
We’ll have to see the questions College Board will release soon, but as the new test will be easier,
I think it would be better to aim for a 2300+ on the current version…

Just to clarify: the UC threatened to write its own test. And since UC applicants are CB’s largest customers, the rest is history…

Don’t bet on it. CB will still design the test so that the means are approx. 500.

I don’t like the new format. I don’t understand why they’d make it easier. And they are making vocab easier too.

It frustrated me a little how they said how they realize the current version isn’t all good and how it doesn’t really touch on topics that is a necessity and whatnot and how words like sagacious would be removed.

I was wondering…can’t those of class of 2015 and 2016 get some sort of compensation or something since they are so close to the class that is getting revamped SAT but sadly, won’t be experiencing the new SAT?

I don’t know it’s just upsetting to me and how I feel screwed over and stressing myself out as I am preparing for SAT in May.

who said the new SAT was any easier?

Personally I missed 3 total questions on the SAT, all in the CR section, all in the passage parts. A higher percentage of those on the test = gg4me.

I also got a 9 on the essay, but managed to pull off an 800 anyway. Not gonna happen with the new SAT since the essay score is separate.

Although imo they need to make the math harder…something like a mix between Math1 and Math2 would be nice, or problem-solving questions like maybe AMC8 level problems.

by the way, @SammyxB, what would be the point of compensation if everyone applying to college/etc. the same time you are is going to get it? lol

The NYTimes article said it will make the vocab more “modern”, which really means easier for high schoolers now to understand. No more old vocabulary.
