There is a one-year academy prep program in Kerrville, TX where you earn college credit and prepare yourself in other ways to not only gain acceptance to an academy, but excel once you get there. Program takes both USNA Foundation students and non-Foundation students.

Great alternative to going to your second choice college and trying again. Here you are under the leadership of a former USNA grad and professor. ALL students in the program are trying again and that's the focus here.

There was an article on this program about a year ago- relatively new program if I recall, with very limited class size, but with successful outcomes re: academy admissions. From what I recall, the reviews were excellent.

They have students who are trying to get into all of the different Service Academies. My daughter, who got her thin letter earlier this Spring, has applied there. We think she'll be accepted, but are just waiting for confirmation.

From what I've gathered from my daughter and I talking to the Director, and talking to several parents here and other places, NWP does an excellent job of preparing their students not only for reapplying and getting accepted, but also for life at the Academy. The class before last had 7 boys and 2 girls interested in USNA and all of them are now Plebes. They have a 90+% rate of acceptance.

If anyone has any questions there are several parents on here who would do TV commercials for the school, they were so impressed.

The major difference between Northwestern and Greystone is that Northwestern is a half year program and then you return home to attend a community college for a semester; Greystone is a year long program and you complete two semesters of college level instruction. Greystone students take Calculus, Writing and Rhetoric, US History, Chemistry and Economics.
