I know I totally forgot something!!!!! Help?!

Headphones. You’re going to have a roommate and it’s really rude to play music on speakers constantly.

Also, seriously, consider what you need to buy beforehand and what you can just buy when you’re there. Loading your car up with that much stuff would be a nightmare.

Parts of it seem a little more female oriented. Anyway:
-Bring an alarm clock, even if you use your phone or Ipad as one. Its always safe to set 2, i know because I slept though an exam once because my phone alarm just ‘didn’t work’
-An additional phone charger…Have be in your room always, and the other you can leave in your car or take with you in your bag. Avoid the stress comes with having to track it down when you leave it somewhere.
-Bring your collection of DVDs (but not too many) stick with college comadys. Animal House (no dorm floor is complete if one person on it does not have it.), Road Trip, Old School, Accented, and Scarface (<should be apart of every male collection) DVDs also make a good get to know one another with your roomate.
Dry Erase board with ample markers.
–Like mentioned above don’t overload on stuff, mainly focus on your clothes and a bag full of school supplies. Get the other stuff as you need them.
-External hardrive or 2 thumb drives. Keep one of them in your room as backup… And yes (even with a high chance you will overlook this) backup EVERYTHING, ive been in a situation where the instructor lost our papers and had us reprint and resubmit them, a good number wear SOL and instructor said it says to back up everything in the syllabus. And a good accomplishment booster when your feeling down, to reflect on your accomplished works.
-An extra set of your car keys to keep in you room. Easier and less costly then having to call AAA.
-Ipod wall charger (charges 10 times faster then the USB plug in)
-A pack of paper plates, plastic spoons and forks.
-Kleenex (unscented)

You don’t need and probably will not have room to store all of the clothing you are planning to bring. If you do laundry at least once a week, 10 pairs of underwear and 3 - 4 bras should be sufficient. You can cut down the amount of shirts, etc. as well. There is not much storage room in most dorms. My D has two sets of linens and blankets but about 8 bath towels because she’s a runner and sometimes showers 2 or 3 times a day.

My D brought a couple of her favorite childhood DVD’s. When she felt homesick the first year, she put on The Little Mermaid or the like in the lounge and very quickly a crowd would gather, popcorn would come out and friends would be made. She rotates them on trips home. It was more fun to watch it on the big TV in the lounge than on her computer. Now she has an occasional movie night with her residents (she’s an RA) and it has proven very popular. She also brought a couple of her favorite books with her. When we visited for Parent weekend, I was surprised and happy to find that she had photos of me, her dad and her brothers, as well as our pets, in her room. I wasn’t surprised to see photos of her friends from home.
