Things to bring to Dimensions

In the confirmation e-mail I got from the admissions office, it says:

Please be sure to bring a book or your own school work to do during this time. You will also need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, change of clothes, any necessary toiletries, a photo ID, and cash for incidental expenses and meals.

Will we be sleeping on somebody's floor? The sleeping bag and pillow thing rather surprised me. Are these things really necessary?

Yes, they are necessary because I don't think any one is giving up their bed for you. It is not an unusual request as Daughter had to take a sleeping bag and pillow to every school she visted last year.

I know last year they got meal vouchers (even though nothing is really expensive in Hanover).

At Dartmouth, she and her roommate live in 3 room quad (2 double bedrooms, common area and bath) and they have a futon in their common area (so hopefully their guest will not be sleeping on the floor).

From what my daughter told me they are getting ready for midterms (hence the reason they may want you to bring a book or school work).

In addition many of you willbe going back to take your AP's the beginning of may and will have to catch up on school work from the whirlwind college visits. I think that they also gave out food vouchers or meal cards last year also.

(P.S. to those that are staying with my kid she said she has no problem feeding you as she never fully spends her DBA).

Yep..I've done a fly-in program b4...you'll def be on the floor...sleeping bag is a must.

It ain't a hotel kido...its a dorm room.
