Yeah, definitely tattoos. I’m getting two the day I turn 18, already have rough ideas of what the designs will be too.

Things to do? Girls.

(that wasn’t objectifying at all)

Vote.
…and finally [legally] drive between 1am-6am.

^I’ve never heard a rule that you can’t. That might just be where I live, though.

^ In New Jersey you have a provisional license with certain restrictions (hours, number of passengers, etc.) until you’re 18.

“LOL, that’s funny. & sad (:”
Er, yeah, just a tad. (; but I still blame it on this stupid state.

LOL @ getting tattoos. I didn’t realize CC was full of trash.

And tongue rings??? Are you crazy? LOL @ eating with a tongue ring. ■■■■■■■■.

Tongue rings lead to cancer.

^ What doesn’t give you cancer at this point? And LOL @ people talking about tobacco, but cancer only being mentioned in relation to tongue rings.

I am also getting a tattoo on my 18th, but I already have one, so it’s not that exciting. At least this time I won’t have to worry about hepatitis quite as much.

@basketballll–Thanks! I see. Here in New York it’s the same thing, but if you take Driver’s Ed you can get a full license at 17. I have a full license now, and most people attempt to get one. So in terms of driving, turning 18 isn’t much of anything here.

I don’t think I’m going to do much of anything when I turn 18. Except register to vote.

That explains why New Yorkers drive like mad men…you get your licenses too early!

This (but I think you can go skydiving at 17 if you pass certain physical requirements). It’s what I’ll be doing on my 18th birthday.

I’m also thinking of getting a tattoo.

Did a friend or family member give it to you? Few parlors would tattoo a minor.

Are you kidding? I don’t think there’s a tattoo place in the world that WOULDN’T tattoo a minor. Same reason every gas station in the world will sell beer to a minor - money.

^nope, you’re very wrong. Like I said, few parlors would tattoo a minor. The ones that do are known for not checking IDs. Believe it or not, many tattoo parlors care about their reputation and there are plenty of high quality tattoo parlors that wouldn’t break a law just to make a hundred dollars or so. The same goes for gas stations. Tell me where in the bay you live that does that, and I’ll go there (I live in the bay as well).

^ I thought as long as you had parental consent, you could get a tattoo as a minor. That’s what it seems like from talking to people my age who have tattoos.

Tattoo laws differ by state. Many require people to be 18, regardless of parental consent, but in some (such as NJ), you have to be 16 with parental consent.

Many places will tattoo people underage, but I guess it depends what area you’re in. St. Marks in NYC is well-known by suburban NJ teens as someplace that will do tattoos and piercings underage. Any place that does ID is happy to accept one that is fake. I’ve gotten my tattoo and last piercing in NYC with no question of age or ID. As someone said, it’s the same as buying alcohol, or cigarettes for that matter. In my experiences, nowhere in NYC IDs for those either.

I got ID’ed when I went to get my tattoo. If you look young and they don’t ID you, you do NOT want to go there. The majority of them are reputable and are not going to put their reps on the line to get some 16 year olds $50. It’s not worth it to them. Las Vegas is one that is VERY strict about IDing people. Here in Michigan, you’re going to have to go into deep downtown Detroit before you find a place that doesn’t care.

tmiles, how many tattoo places have you been in?

Close-minded much?

So leave and it’ll be a little cleaner.

I got mine done by a friend at 16…my parents still don’t know
The next one’s gonna be done by the best artist in our area…gonna cost a bunch…but i can’t wait

I don’t think these things make me trashy, or “hip” or anything. I’m doing them because i like them
