Hi, I was thinking, what do you people think I could do base meetings for my school's computer club on? I mean, other than give lectures on new releases and that sort of stuff, what are some fun ideas you think I could do for the club's meetings? What would you want to see if you were a member of a computer and media club? Or what would you do if you were/are the president of one? All ideas are accepted, and thanks in advance for your help :)

Programming; make it a legit indie dev studio. Pick a platform like PC, android, iphone, xbox 360 and go through the game development process. Literally. Then publish the game.

Make a programming language.

Have everyone build their dream PC on Newegg, then have people present at a meeting and discuss why they chose each component.

Also, have an operating system debate, but don’t let it get too icky.

Program Hello World in all sorts of languages, then ask each member to code a sample application (ie: a tip calculator or something like that) in a different language.

Have people discuss favorite programs that perhaps others don’t know about, favorite websites, etc.

And of course, if things get boring, you can always have epic LAN battles on Halo or something.

I’ve wanted to start a computer science club at school for a while now, but I’m spread thin as it is. We’ll see, maybe next year.

Man, I really should make my club, the Programmers’ Club.

Get wasted and have a Starcraft 2 LAN party. Awww cheahhh…
