Things to do on campus

Is there a website where I can go to see events or just places to go for entertainment on campus? Google and the forum search weren't really helping. I've been here since tuesday and I've been bored out of my mind. >_<

[101 Great Things to do in Austin](http://studentorgs.utexas.edu/acccf/section/nstudent/todo101.htm)

that’s stuff to do off campus. I want stuff to do ON campus for now :P

Check out the turtle pond.
Go see a movie at the Dobie Theatre.
Check out the Blanton Museum.
Walk around the Drag.

Or, go to the event calender.

you should obviously be studying.

go get the books for your classes and start reviewing them before classes start.

Come on, stay motivated.

awww, but i wanted to party before hell started, lol

There is really no cure. Just wait.

No I will not allow you to party.

If I even hear that you MIGHT have been partying, I will alert the authorities and tell your parents.

oh noes! anything but that!

Bowling in the basement of the Union. Cheap and open to non-students so any friends can come with you.

Third Thursdays at the Blanton Museum of Art - it’s on campus.

Go to women’s soccer or volleyball games.

Partying like crazy = bad idea. GPA and future > social life. Make academics your first priority. You made it into UT because of your grades, so now you gotta show everyone that you can also make the grades to stay there. Just learn how to balance school and social life. You can party, but not too hard!

An advice: don’t stay up too late or drink heavy during weekdays b/c you will either feel like s*** when you wake up in the morning for the class or end up skipping it. & listen to smartone92, b/c what he just said is so damn true.

Depends on your idea of “fun”. Check out the Blanton Museum (its not nerdy), you pay for it and its really interesting. Also, the very first photograph is housed in the Harry Ransom Center so be sure to visit that.

Don’t go to Gregory Gym because thats where all the ****** bag wannabe weightlifters go. The Rec Center is less crowaded and has decent amount of weights and equipment.

You should be studying 90% of your time ebcause if you get into the habit of partying your GPA will fall faster then the Dow Jones.

Check out the Texas Memorial Museum. It’s a geology museum with everything from pre-dinosaur reptiles to meteorites.

lol, i know all this about partying. this is my 3rd year of college, I know how it works. thanks for the activity advice though :)

Back to the original topic - the IMAX Theater is just across the street, so I’ll count that as on campus. So go see an IMAX movie.

showtimes[/url”>http://www.thestoryoftexas.com/showtimes/imax_theatre.html]showtimes

do they accept Bevo Bucks?

The IMAX theater is not on this list, but maybe it’s not complete? You could call and ask.

[Bevo Bucks - Where can I use my Bevo Bucks?](<a href=“Bevo Pay | University Housing and Dining”>Bevo Pay | University Housing and Dining)

How bout a CHEAPER alternative to the IMAX theater? Watch FREE movies at the Union!!! They show foreign films, big hits like Toy Story 3 and stuff that are out right now, and even advanced screenings!

yea, I actually just got hired as the projectionist at the theater :P
