Most of my D's decisions will be received by April 1. In the meantime, what can one do?
In Austin, we have SXSW to distract us, which is fun.
Then there is working out,
house cleaning,
lessons,
D's spring band trip (a cruise),
getting an MRI (me),
going for an open-water swim in a wetsuit (me),
driving lessons (for her),
movies...

what are you doing to pass the time? (it's our spring break this week)

lol, BassDadd - I liked this one from you:
“You could practice steaming open envelopes and resealing them undetectably in case the letter arrives when you are home and your daughter isn’t. (Just kidding, students. Your parents would never do something like that, now would they?)”

I actually considered this earlier in the week when she got two from her safety school. I controlled myself. She opened them herself when she got home - one was official acceptance, the other the results of her theory and aural tests.

Moonmaid, I considered the same thing why my son got a big envelope from his second choice school last Sat. He was at Allstate band, I called him and asked if I could open it, he said “definately not”. But I knew what is was anyway, it had a big “YES” on the back of it. Another admittance letter had a picture of a student with two thumbs up printed on it, so I knew what that one was in advance of him opening it also.

My advice would be to spend as much time with her as possible! I am still waiting to hear back from three schools. It is such an unbearable wait; I try to spend time with my parents as much as possible. Lately, my mother and I have been going out to the movies and seeing operas.
I’m going to the Met on Monday with my dad; I am so excited! It is crucial to spend a lot of time now. She is going to need your support and guidance deciding which college to go to and entering a new stage in her life. :)

That is such a sweet post! I have been trying to do a lot of things with her this year, because I am going to miss her very much come fall. I try to help her without being pushy - I know it will be a big decision.
