Things to see on campus and in New London

I'm probably going to go to a visitors' day for junior (yes, they're actually hosting events for juniors at this time of year) soon. I wanted to know what places I should see on campus and in New London that I may not see on a campus tour. The cats seem interesting, so I'll try to visit them.

x3 I loved the kitties.

Try to see the Lyman Allen Art museum. It’s on the very edge of campus. There’s a rusty swingset behind Harkness Chapel (I found this charming, for some reason), the lake in the arbo is beautiful, and there’s a big blue barn that houses student bands. I walked by two different times, and people were jamming. If you can go into the library, look at the Charles Chu reading room on the bottom floor- they fill it with east asian art work and books.

I don’t know about New London itself, but I know there’s a comic shop. There are some great little towns nearby- Niantic has a huge used bookstore [The Book Barn - Niantic, Connecticut - “One of CT’s truly great bookstores.”](http://www.bookbarnniantic.com/), and Mystic is really colonial, has some great museums. [Connecticut College : Community & Visitors](http://www.conncoll.edu/community/243.htm) Conn has stuff written up… so what I know about New London is limited to that, what the people who live there mentioned to me, and whatever my Nana found out by google mapping it. xD

-Definitely walk around the pond in the arboretum.
-Eat at Muddy Waters on Bank Street in downtown New London and check out the other shops on Bank Street.
