Things to See When Visiting

So I'm visiting on Friday (WHICH IS DRAGON DAY?!?!) and I want to know what are "must sees" before I go, since it doesn't seem likely I'll be able to sit in on a class (friday before break?) and HumEc isn't offering any information sessions. Right now, I'm doing the university info session, and the tour, and hopefully a class visit if they aren't testing. Any other recommendations? Keep in mind, I only have around 6 hours or so.

ummm if its dragon day, i dont think they will offer tours and all… But if they don’t, you should visit college town, the dining halls, and the dorms. I loved college town and the dining halls. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see the dorms during transfer day. Check the libraries!!! They were amazing imo! umm probably just sneak into a lecture room if you can. Don’t worry you won’t get caught i think, the lecture room are huge! The professor won’t even notice you. So yeah, thats what I can think of right now pretty much. I loved the campus and I can remember every single detail of it. OH AND VISIT THEIR AWESOME SUPER SMEXY CAMPUS STORE!!!

I would do my best to make it up to North Campus to check out Appel if I were you. Uris Library and the Straight (Willard Straight, the student union) are also pretty important places for undergrads. They’re basically adjacent to each other at the side of the Arts Quad that leads to Ho Plaza.

Those would be my choices.

He’s a transfer prospective, so I don’t think he will be place on North Campus if he was to get accepted. But I would go and see the water fall  So sexy!! Yeah The campus tour shows the student center/union place and the arts quad. But its nice to go back and walk around it. The tour guide will only show u like the front hall way. BTW, don’t buy sodas or water in the water machine. Cuz, well they are basically broken. Well the soda machine loves me at the gym building. I was buying 1 water bottle and it gave me 2!!! But my friend was buying a water bottle and she got 0 water bottle. LOL!!

^ Alright, I’ll have to bring my own water haha. Any other ideas?

I think a lot of kids will have left for break … although my son has a 2 pm class and the prof has told them to be there, although she is already in Mexico. Take a tour, if available, but then wander around to the edges of campus and down into Collegetown. The general tour is pretty much centered in central campus – and you don’t get out to the edges with the gorges and waterfalls.

It was wet and chilly there yesterday – but hopefully improving soon. Dress warmly in layers and wear good walking shoes!

follow the dragon.

i hope you saw dragon day!!!

Dragon Day was awesome!! haha that dragon was so well done! And the Phoenix burned well too  But honestly, I did have a great time, and the weather was relatively great! Thanks for all of the suggestions!

I can’t wait to visit in April. I hear the campus is absolutely stunning…

I visited in October and it was amazing, but I’m probably going again for Cornell Days. I didn’t really accomplish too much in my last visit because I had to catch a bus and only had time for a campus tour. Hopefully Cornell Days will be worth it.

My first impression of Cornell was that it looked like Amherst College plopped down in the middle of UMass … but four years later I am mostly impressed by the setting. The natural beauty of the site is stunning.

The views of the lake and West Hill from the Statler are spectacular. The brooks, streams, waterfalls, and gorges running through campus are just lovely. The Plantations are just beautiful. There’s an …eclectic feel … to the buildings with different sorts of architecture and look.
