Things Wrong with Penn (to help with ED Rejections)

All right, I guess I can understand how denial can sort of be used as a way to help you cope with def/rejection from Penn, but I think it's the worst way to help you rebound.

I mean, if your boy/girlfriend just dumped you, I doubt that the first thing you would do would be to curse her for being a liar/cheater/"prostitute" or things that aren't just true. No, you would just forget about her and move on.

b/c i kno there r so many others, including the other violas in the orchestra, who are better than me.

well if you get into penn, i personally know of one violist who will be worse than you! lol

well....about the bf/gf scenario...it depends why you broke up. if it was because s/he cheated on you, well then yea, a little bad talk is probably unavoidable lol. otherwise...iono, i'll tell you wen i figure it out ^_^ haha

hahah, thanx, cujoe, i think (?) lol ^_^

lol, it's a compliment... of sorts

I think Penn is a prostitute :) Well, BF was pretty promiscuous, or so I have heard.

Nah, seriously, this thread is depressing...let's save this until after decisions so that Penn has more defenders and less depressed "I don't think I'm getting in" peeps. Either way, I know what side I'm already on, so that's why I posted my little comment about Penn :)

randomness: anyone ever done/been the recipient of the thing like: well, A told B who told C who told...who told ME that such-n-such happened?? lol, just all this talk of gf/bf reminded me of this stuff haha

Hahaha, I don't think its possible to go to my high school and not be a recipient of that sort of scuttlebutt.

mm, i've only been the recipient of it once or twice, and i have to admit i've done it myself once or twice just to see how long i could make the list lol

Hahaha, one of my friends started a rumor that he only bathed once a month and used patchouli oil to cover the stench. The whole school heard it in like a week.

This is really sad...but your rumor story reminded me of AP Calc test problems (where you have to model and analyze the graph of how a rumor spreads, etc.)

Ya, I hate the rumor train. People are always talking about me, and the ones that do are the ones I don't even know, or see.

I know I'll be crushed if I get rejected from Penn

BUT.. i refuse to say anything bad about such a saintly school (wink wink)

thedude - i hate rumors too, and i hate it when people talk about me behind my back. i'd rather a girl come up to me and call me a b**ch in my face than behind my back like a coward. at least that way i get to laugh at her idiocy lol :D

The weather......

Penn has either rain.... cold rain.... or cold.

Actually, Philadelphia has four roughly equal seasons. It happens to be very warm and nice today. going back to the original post: the crime on campus is negligible. You should look up the crime statistics for the area around Temple (my bargain basement safety school). That neighborhood, North Philadelphia/Nicetown, is quite hardcore. University city is completely gentrified, youd have to be a good quarter mile away from campus at night to be in any sort of trouble. Even so, just buy a hoodie (no, not with a huge penn logo. maybe some thrift store 76'ers type of thing), dont shave, and act drunk- nobody will bother you.

or you could just put a plastic "gat" in your belt

About the debate of crime in Philadelphia, I personally would say Penn is not the safest of all worlds, but it is a bit safer than Drexel...

Then again I have been both mugged and carjacked so I'm probably tainted.

I disagree...I've eaten at several colleges, and when I visit my brother who attends Penn, I must say it's rather good. It's not stellar, but you cant complain.
