I am sorry to have to share some disappointing news about your early decision application to Cornell. I regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the university. I know that this is not the decision you were hoping for, but please understand that we gave your application very careful consideration. This is a final decision; we will not be moving your application into our regular decision applicant pool.

This electronic message is not your official notification. You should be receiving an official letter from us in the mail shortly. In the meantime, I wish you the best. I am certain that you will make a fine contribution wherever you matriculate in the coming year. Cornell has not yet made a decision on your early decision application. Please continue to check this site for decision information within the next few days. Thank you!

Sincerely,

i have been rejected as well. very surprisingly, i was not as ****ed or sad as i thought i would be. actually just very relieved to know one way or the other. that last part about cornell not making a decision was wierd tho...

drinkingmilk- why did you continue this really weird thread? I was freaked out as well. I read somewhere on the princetonreview thingy that 95 was 3.9 on the GPA. not sure about 3.82 though...

So many schools have different 4.0 scales, that you can't equate a numerical grade to a 4.0 grade. At my old high school:
A: 94-100 - 4.0
B+: 90-93 - 3.5
B: 84-49 - 3.0 and so on.
So if you had a 95 average that could be anywhere from a 3.7 to a 4.0 most likely.
And a 3.82 could be around 95-97.
Other schools w/o + grades, could be an A is 90-100 is a 4.0 and so on for B,C,D,F. So a 95 at that school would be most likely at least a 3.9 if not a 4.0.

So I guess I am saying, don't try and convert your numerical score to 4.0, and don't try and convert a 4.0 score to numerical, b/c there is no way to get a concrete answer.

Also if you have a 95 grade or you have a 3.82, I dont' think you have much to worry about seeing as those are good grades.
