Think I can get in to CAS?

(For the title, would it be into or in to? No idea)

Hey everyone,

I'm a US student that applied ED for 2014. I was wondering what you think my chances are at getting in.

Asian male without reported ranks

GPA: 3.83UW/4.1~W

36 ACT - 35E, 35M, 36R, 36S, but 9 on essay bringing the combined Eng/Writ down to 32
(No idea how I got this, didn't even study except for one practice test in the week leading up)

SAT IIs - 800 Math2, Chem, 790 BioM, 760 Physics, 730 Chinese with Listening

All honors/APs except for one semster regular English Junior year (didn't get good rec to get in), and the other semester being a "Film Literature" class, also 5APs senior year

Do AP scores really matter? Schools don't even look at them for admission, but whatever: 5 - Physics B, Stat, Chinese, 4 - Bio (very difficult year, only 5% got 5's)

Did summer class "Intro to Sociology" at local community college

Extracurriculars:

Internship turned job summer before senior year (still doing it)

Volunteering at local senior facility's mental health floor (~50 hrs, 11-12)

Varsity swimming (9-11, going to continue in 12, attended CCS for those of you that know what it is)

Club swimming (9-11, going to continue in 12, did during offseason, part of top 10 teams in US)

Varsity wopo (11)

Georgetown Summer Program (6 weeks, A's in both classes I took, summer after 10th)

"Buddies for Math" (program started at local underprivileged elementary school, helped tutor 3rd/4th graders in math, standardized test scores rose 40%, 10-12)

General tutoring at local church (church has mostly underprivileged members, started it myself, no official numbers but progress has been said to be positive, 11-12)

Essays - Hopefully very good :P, at the very least they're not bad

Recs - Heard they don't count much since they basically all say the same thing (no teacher's going to give a student a bad rec), but one of them was an English teacher who loved me, and the other one was a math teacher I was close enough to to unawkwardly race to rank 100 in Tetris Battle :P (if that's a good indication)

Also, does anyone know if CAS weighs any part of the application, specifically test scores, any higher than the rest?

You will most likely be accepted. Your stats are well above average but lacking some leadership. You’re a very good fit for CAS.

Thank you! I know my EC’s are pretty lacking, although I now realize that I forgot to mention that I was captain of the swim team 11th grade and likely will be 12th grade as well.

Yes! You scores and essay are good. Those are big advantages. Don’t worry~

I think you’ll get in. I have a feeling that admissions officers like 36 ACTs, haha.
