Think of all the time wasted in class and what you could be doing

<p>We've all been there. The class in which it takes 10 minutes to get everyone to shut up, and 25 more minutes are wasted by people asking stupid questions, not to mention the 15 minutes the teacher spends telling kids off for acting like dumba***s. Basically, 10 minutes out of a one hour period are actually spent teaching.</p>

<p>Who has a class like that? It's just really irritating that I could teach myself the stuff in 1/10 of the time and have all those extra hours to sleep, relax, etc.</p>

<p>Lol I had a class like that. Lectures would take 8 minutes tops so the rest of the 1 hour 30 minute class was spent talking and fooling around. :)</p>

<p>I usually bust out my laptop and do essays for other classes.</p>

<p>Luckily I only had those classes frosh year. I’ve managed to take those types of classes online =]</p>

<p>Hmm…history and latin for sure. History, we start the class off, the teacher starts teaching, and then someone asks a question. Then there’s a debate upon the question among a few in the class for about 20 mins. Then the teacher gets off track herself</p>

<p>And Latin, I usually sleep along with my friend, even though the class is just 10 people. There are no projects, the teacher never checks the hw, and the tests and quizzes are extremely easy. That’s why I’m taking Latin 3 over the summer. SO much easier.</p>

<p>Last week I kept track of how much time I wasted in one of my classes. On average, 57 out of 92 minutes were spent in class discussions. These aren’t discussions about anything academic either. That’s like 90 hours per year wasted!! I usually just do work for other classes, but the teacher constantly gives me these dirty looks like I should be participating in the discussion about what happened during weekend football games.</p>

<p>That’s pretty much all my classes except for AP Physics C.</p>

<p>I wish I could sleep in and just show up for that 12 pm class. Too bad that won’t happen.</p>

<p>I’m not the typical CC student…I sometimes start and contribute to the distractions and immaturity, lol. But it’s only for the screw around classes, like my math teacher is a complete ditz and just reads the book to us. So naturally, everyone just screws around and loves that class.</p>

<p>Well, my math class is sort of like that…as in, we don’t do anything (in my opinion) new or challenging, so I just take my self-study AP prep book and study in that class. xD</p>

<p>We usually override the teacher, take over her computer and watch Youtube videos.</p>

<p>That is EVERY class at my school since freshman year. Even our AP classes are a waste of time. So many hours wasted.</p>

<p>I have quite a bit of those classes, so I understand you.</p>

<p>Although I do go to sleep so it doesn’t bother me.</p>

<p>Maybe you should go to sleep during then or do hw?</p>

<p>My AlG 2 class is exactly like that. THe teacher is so ADD she never realizes what really goes on in the class. I just about ALWAYS do other work in her class ( and sometimes sleep the whole period) but when she finds out that I am doing other work she gets ****ed…what am I supposed to do actually listen to her rabble on about the same concept for 40 minutes? THen she gives us like 2 hours of homework per night which is crazy easy and I suck at math.</p>
