I am thinking about changing majors, i have been accepted to The college of arts media and design (school of architecture), and I really think I want to change to the college of engineering... When is the best time for me to do this? My stats are low compared to the people that got into engineering and I am afraid I might be rejected... If that happens does it mean that I become rejected to the school of architecture? Im pretty sure I am going to NeU so I really need to know if by attempting to change majors I dont dont end up screwing my acceptance in some way...

You aren’t just changing majors- you are changing colleges. Once here, you have to go through the internal transfer process to do this. Plus since engineering starts out immediately with a bunch of required classes (as does architecture), it is pretty difficult to switch into engineering unless you already had chem, physics, etc from high school.

I don’t know if it’ll reject you or anything from engineering, although I’m pretty confident that they won’t just kick you out of CAMD because you call. But you really can’t afford to wait to do the switch after you get here, because your advisor won’t place you in the required engineering classes and you’ll be behind everyone else (if you manage to internally transfer anyway, which is NOT always the case). You’ll also have gone to the wrong orientation. You should call admissions and explain and just ASK what the process would be if you were to try and switch.

Side note- to switch majors within colleges is very easy, especially before you get here. Just email admissions and/or your future advisor and they’ll usually sort you out. Try and do it before orientation, if possible.

Last year I got accepted to Bouve early action, and decided i wanted to switch to architecture. About a week after i was accepted i went on myneu and made a major change request and a month later they notified me that the change was accepted.
