hahaha a clean-addict. hooked on to hygiene

So, I think we need Pavalon here as soon as possible :)
At first, I also thought that Pre-Or is better, since you get to find out very important things you need. However, I don't think it is something I will not learn anyway in a few days....But I will definetly be very sorry if I don't go to OA.......So I choose OA :) ;)

Is it weird that I am going to have no problem not showering for a week? Showering is /so/ overrated... and really bad for your hair.

That's the spirit, prettyfish! See, guys. It can't be that bad ;)

Go a week without washing your hair and you will have /no/ split ends. No joke.

how can I hate camping? two miserable weeklong backpacking/canoeing trips did a pretty good job of making me never want to sleep in tent, carry a backpack, or eat freeze-dried food ever again

Hey Sucharita, what do you actually think about the internationl students' pre-orientation? Will that be "mature, practical, and boring", really?
No actually it sounds like pretty good fun :) ^^jss thanks, you finally made my decision with that.

DELIVER ME FROM DIRT!

freeze dried food? on a camping trip? Never heard of such a thing!!! How do you keep it frozen?

And camp food is the best! Canned beans and sausages, liver paste, Smoked cheese... And the last day you pour every remaining item of food (liver, cheese, meat, tomatoes, onions, potatoes.... EVERYTHING!!!) into a big pot and cook it. Best meal ever. Guaranteed to attract bears over a 10Km radius.

Actually that is second best meal... Smoked solid triglyceride broiled over an open camp fire is the best thing you can eat outdoors. But i doubt you will find such a delikatess in a Princeton OA trip.... Pav might know what i'm talking about.... YUMMY!!!!

smoked solid triglyceride

triglycerides of fatty acids =fats and oils =!

yup. FAT! Solid FAT! Delicious. Add a bit of Palinca(~70% alcohol)....

i lived on spam for two days. We couldnt' cook anything because it was raining so hard.

I think they are traditionaly Romanian. Haven't seen them anywhere else.

Palinca is a traditional drink from Transylvania. Very very strong. Usually made out of plums, but any fruit will do. Stronger in alcohol then Vodka or Whiskey. Usually brewed by people in mountain villages, in small, home-made distilleries in their own backyard.

The solid fat otherwise known as "sunca" or "Slana" or "Slanina".
After sacrifing a pig for Christmas you take the layer of fat, together with the "sorici" (the skin, which can also be eaten separately and its delicious). You boil the layer of fat and cut it into strips. bout 5cm wide and around 30cm long. You can also add paprika. http://www.kliment.cz/img/46.GIF. This should be a picture of a little slice of Slanina. Pure Fat. Delicious.

Palinca and Slanina is a great outdoors combination! The greatest! Just be carefull with the Palinca. Very strong and if you have no previous experience with it it is definetly not recomended if you have a trip planned for the next day. That thing is strong as Kerosen.

Both of them traditions in Romania. However with Romania joining the EU and adhering to its reglementations regarding alcohol production and animal killing they will probably slowly die out.... :(

i don't like spam. It's hard to eat without anything else. I usually take liver paste and canned beans and sausages. Spam is awfull...

I agree, Revan.

Oooh you Romanians -- stole that from the Chinese! Dong Po Rou.

;), kidding of course - Chinese have it in this salty/sweet soupish kind of thing with veggies............but still! Theft!

I'm a vegetarian :p

plenty of grass and leaves for you to graze on in the wilderness, sucharita :D

yeah I'm such a cow :D

such: wow, you sacred animal!! :D kneels and worships in awe

coming back from romaniano-chinese gourmet vegan specialities and indian sacred animals, and about the initial question:

Princeton without OA is just as incredible and exciting, and i restate something i've said before: probably 10 yr from now, OA will be at most a nice lil memory, without too much relevance...

on the other hand, i remember that first time i heard about OA, my thoughts were exactly : "God, this is in-sane!!!" :D... which is why i want to do it...

but i completely understand zante's, jss's and such's lack of obsession:

After all, Princeton is Princeton/size

:p to myself and all other OA-obsessies

: )) I hope I get to OA with you Pav.
