Hey guys. My name is Aaron and I'm new to the site I'm a junior in HS and I'll be a senior this coming fall
Here's the thing.

I've been hearing good things about NYU Steinhardt and their MT program, and lately I've actually been considering applying for it. But I'm rather worried as to whether or not I really stand much of chance at getting in. I mean my friend seems confident that he can and he has an overall average of 85, but I'm trying to be more realistic.

-My current overall average is an 89.3 (I think that's a 3.5 on the scale)
-My SAT scores are 670 in reading, 500 in math, & 620 in writing (Total of 1790)
-I go to a performing arts HS so I've been in multiple shows and choral concerts. (I was also a lead in one of the shows)

Now Obviously my audition is also going to play a factor in being accepted too, but since nobody knows how that will turn out until it happens, I'm not thinking about that at the moment. I also plan to take the SAT again in October so my math score should hopefully improve before I apply. I know it's not much, but just looking at the three things I listed above, do you think I've got a shot at getting in? If not, is there anything I could improve in or do to better my chances? Also, when applying for things like the Steinhardt program, how heavily weighted is the audition compared to the academic record when being considered for acceptance to the school on whole?

BTW, I would also like information on NYU in general. I've checked their website but I haven't found too much other than accounts on their prestige, so info on tuition, financial aid policies, or just general opinions on the school and its MT program would also be appreciated. THANK YOU!!! =)
