Thinking about PharmD

<p>Hey guys, I'm a senior in high school and have come questions in regard to a potential career in pharm.</p>

<p>Here are my main questions:
-What are some good privates in CA that have good PharmD programs?
-What are some good UCs that have good PharmD programs?
-What's are the benefits or disadvantages of applying directly into a PharmD program (example: UOP I heard I can apply to the program or the school...what's the difference?)
-How would it be possible to be out of school with my degree and ready for a job in 4 years, rather than 6?</p>

<p>You will not be able to get a PharmD degree with less than 6 years of school. Pre-pharm requirements take 2 years (at least), and pharmd programs are 4 years. Some schools require a bachelors before you can enter their pharmd programs, so that adds another couple years.</p>

<p>UCSF, UCSD, and USC all have pharm programs. They’re not connected to undergrad, you have to apply for them in college.</p>
