I have my essays finished. 1000 500 500 words for the 3. They are in the hands of my English teacher, we are gonna revise them next week! My 4 recommendation letters are in too!

My daughter has appllied but has not yet been accepted to PSU. She received an email the other day from the head of Schreyers reminding her that the priority deadline for applying was Nov. 30. Assuming everyone received the same? or is she special ?

Of course this deadline is for everyone!

Best to have it in by then. If they receive applications afterward you are looked at last after the rest of the group is checked out.

I think Bennie was asking if the email was sent out to everyone, not that specific deadline.

To answer the question, I received this email also. From the line that said
“you are receiving this message because an automated screening suggests that you may have a strong high school record”
I’m guessing the computer automatically sent this email to every student that applied that has a certain GPA or higher (Schreyers doesn’t look at SAT or ACT, so I don’t think they would use that to sort out students). I’m not really sure where this cutoff falls, however. My GPA is 4.2, so I’m guessing everyone above me got this email too.

nikiivolk - you were right about my question. Like all of us who spend time on these boards, we spend ridiculous amounts of energy trying to read into every message in an attempt to predict the admissions outcome. I was being a bit facetious and because I hadn’t actually read the email myself, I didn’t realize that it said anything about an automated screening. That would have given me the answer to my silly question.

But we no longer have to wait with baited breath - my daughter was accepted this morning! School of Engineering University Park.

Congrats, Bennnie and D!

Thank you 1moremom. She is the happiest person right now - not to mentioned relieved. We thought she had a reasonable chance but you never know with these things.

app complete and submitted, sigh of relief
