So I'm considering transferring to a school that I was accepted to when I applied during high school. The school had given me a very nice merit scholarship. There is no hope in getting that scholarship if I were to transfer in a a sophomore next fall is there? What are the chances of me getting any money for merit?

definitely just send the school and email or call

Merit aid is generally non-existent for transfers (or so I’ve been told) but it doesn’t hurt to call the school and ask since you’d been previously awarded merit aid.

Good luck!

thanks! have either of you gone through the transfer experience? If so, could you elaborate a bit. My biggest worry is that I’ll have missed a whole year of socializing and it will be a bit more difficult to fit in.

or is there another thread on that?

Check out this thread, a couple of the posters said that they knew people who were awarded merit as a fr, attended elsewhere, transferred and were given the scholarship, see posts #17, 30 & 31:

Of course this will vary by school, but as cbr says, it’s worth a call.

thanks so much!
