<p>You need to think very carefully about your reasons for applying to the places on your transfer list. You will need to write essays that state specifically why you believe that the place(s) that you apply to have better academic programs for your major. “I want to go to an Ivy.” is not a good enough reason. Neither is “I hate my current university.”</p>
<p>When you know what is wrong with ISU, you will be better able to determine what needs to be right about the place(s) that you apply to for transfer. When you know where you do want to apply, and why, you will know whether you need to re-take any classes from ISU. Here is a hint: If it is a D or an F, re-take it. If it is a C, forget it, and move on.</p>
