Thinking about transfering

Ok so I got suspended from my last college (health reasons. I couldn't make to most of my classes and have a GPA of 1.2) And now I'm going to my local community college, and the first semester I'll have a 2.5 GPA. For my second semester I'll be taking 21 credit hours and hopefully boost my GPA up some. And also I'm thinking about joining some clubs. And before transferring I'll be done with some of my business and the two accounting classes I need to take (I'm a finance major). I was wondering what are my chances of getting into Depaul and UIC? With all of this in mind do you think that I can get in?

And I have looked at depaul and UIC's transfer applications and they both ask if I was suspended from a previous college (I was) I have written a letter explaining why I was suspended. I make valid points, and will provide hospital documentations.

So with all of this in mind do you think I can get in?
And also by the time I transfer (next fall) I will have more than 48 credit hours.

Can someone please reply back? I would really like to know, and I’ve emailed both Universities, and have yet to received a message.

bump bump bump bump bump bump

jenny,
I haven’t posted on your thread as I’m not familiar with the transfer stats of either of these schools, and that may be the case for many other members as well.

Have you talked to an advisor at your CC? They will have the the most experience with transfers from your school and the best knowledge of which schools are within your reach.

It’s too bad that your health problems resulted in a suspension rather than a leave of absence. Having hospital documentation will be helpful, but it’s really hard to say how colleges will view this.
