Thinking about transferring from UMass.

Hey all,

Im currently a freshman at UMass. I was an underachiever in H.S. (3.5 Weighted GPA, 1180 on the old SAT) but am really heading towards my academic potential in college. I am only taking 13 credits right now(Four 3 Credit classes, and a 1 credit class) and am looking at something like a 3.75 GPA. I will be taking 18 credits next semester and I intend on working my butt off and maintaining a GPA around 3.7-3.8. I am thinking about transfering after freshman year as I find UMass to lack substance(the people and the academics). Anyway, I am thinking I may want to transfer... I am undecided at UMass but want to go into Business.

My question is what should I start looking into? What types of schools could I get into after my freshman year or maybe after first semester as a sophmore. I really don't know how these things translate so any information for a potential transfer would be great.

BTW, I was looking at possibly Villanova after my freshman year... This is really premature but just for reference sake, would a 3.7ish GPA after my Freshman year give me a good shot at VIllanova?

Also, how manu schools require you to retake the SATs... Studying for it again would be a pain, but I think I can probably do much better on them.

Thanks guys.
