Thinking about transferring...

I go to a Top Tier LAC. This school was my so called "dream school." Anyway, I don't feel at home here at all. I am totally out of cync with the "social scene" here. This school is a much bigger party school than I realized. Also, with the economic downturn, I am starting to think that this school may not be worth it financially, too. I am considering transferring to a state school with a really strong honors college that would be really cheap for me and my family. This honors program has produced numerous Fullbright and Goldwater Scholars in the past and requires an extensive senior honors project.

I am also thinking about changing my major. For years I have wanted to be a political science major and partly picked this school because of that. Now I am not so sure. I am thinking about going into the education program at this school and teaching High School Social Studies.

Any advice would be appreciated.

What state are you from? I just replied to another thread concerning someone not happy with their current school..and I will reiterate: If you don't feel at home and it's costing you a lot of money, not worth it. I would definitely talk to an adviser regarding your interests in pursuing secondary social studies education.

A large industrial Midwestern state...
