thinking ahead about grad architecture schools.

i'm currently a sophomore architecture student at DAAP, university of cincinnati. i know the grad program is #2 or 3 , but i really want to venture out and experience another school after 4 years.
Wondering what are some good grad school in the field of architecture and how hard is it to get in to these schools? what does it take, some common things schools look for and what will stand out?
i'm already co-oping and getting real life experiences so i hope that's a plus for me already.
it's never to early to think about grad school. i'm already half way through undergrad... and it's scary how time flies.
thanks everyone.

can anyone reply to me???

well, what's "good" to you is pretty subjective. You might be a Harvard/Cornell/Columbia sort of person, or a Yale/Berkeley sort of person, or a SCIArc/UCLA/MIT sort of person, or even an Auburn/VTech sort, or so many more.... in short, there's so much out there, that what you personally want out of grad school matters a lot more than some list of what the "best ones" are.

The #1 thing they look for is a great portfolio- interesting projects documented in a technically proficient and thoughtful way. After that your statement of purpose and recommendations are the next big things. They want to see that you know what you want out of grad school and are prepared to make the most out of it, and that what you want is something that they can/want to provide.

I really recommend mentioning to some professors you are close with at the start of next year that you plan on exploring other options for grad school, and ask where they think would be a good fit for you.
