thinking bout math 2

I am signed up for math II june among lit and bio.

I was wondering--what are some useful things to put into your calculator...like formulas/programs...and HOW can I get them because im inept at that sort of stuff....

i put all the trig functions in, turns out i didnt even need them...
i am good at basic programing on the TI-86, (assuming you have this model) you can pretty easily go to the graph menu, turn off the x and y axes, then go to draw, then text, and you can type in whatever you want, then hit stpic to store the picture and save it with a title. That should suffice, i mean i took it a step further and made a program to display the images sequentially, but yeah.

BTW, i took it yesterday and really did not regret not having any other formulas, you pretty much either know it (in which case you probably have memorized the formula anyway) or you dont (in which case you probably cant figure out how to use the forumula anyway). The reason programmable calculators are allowed on this test is for this, it really does not help you

I only have a ti-84......

You don't really need programs for 2C.

Just memorize the basic formulas (i.e. summation of series, basic trig definitions) and know how to graph on your calculator VERY well and you'll be set.

I think a good score on the 2C depends not on the depth of the math you know but rather the breadth.

I'm scared crapless for this....50 questions...60 minutes..that's only a little over a minute per question...I am a screwed lad...

Truer words were never spoken. Know basic limits? What the dimensions have to be to multiply matrices? How to find the determinant of a 3 x 3 matrix? How to add and subtract vectors, determine their resultant magnitude and angle?
What the capital sigma means and how to compute series?
Know how percentiles work?
How to find the absolute value of a complex number?
Know the quick way to get the area of a triangle given two sides and the angle in between?
What the concept of standard deviation is, and how to add and subtract, estimate percentiles, etc (not compute the s.d., phew!)
6 question on the Math 2 come from the "random crap" category. If you know the random crap (which is weird but not hard), then you have plenty of other truly hard or annoying questions you can skip or eliminate and guess on. You'll also have more time to get other questions right.
