<p>Hi everyone, I will be applying to UCLA and UC San Diego this fall as a political science major from a California community college. However, I also want to apply to Berkeley, but as a rhetoric major. Is there anyway I can go about writing about both majors in the essay? I'm worried that my chances at SD and LA will be jeopardized if I talk about a major offered only at Berkeley. Any suggestions on what I should do?</p>
<p>You need to find an overarching goal/theme for the two majors and discuss your interest in pursuing that. For example, if you want to become a lawyer, talk about what interested you and how you intend to pursue that career goal and how political science/rhetoric major will help you achieve that.</p>
