Thinking of dropping this summer class-worried about following semsters

I'm enrolled in a Precalculus class for a six week summer session. I'm already behind even though we just started on Monday. Math isn't my easiest subject. I can do it, but it takes me a while. This summer class may not be working out for me. On the other hand I'm willing to go to tutoring every day for the duration and I feel much more comfortable with the chapter we just started. I still think I might do better at a slower pace.

The issue is I'm hoping to transfer in Fall 2013. In order to do that there are classes I need to take. Delaying this class to next semester bumps something else off the list, but keeping the summer class and possibly failing would really mess me up since I'd have to scramble to try and get into the same class in fall. There are open spaces in a fall Precalc class now, but that might not be true in six weeks.

Opinions? Should I solider on and try my best, or is dropping this class the smart move?

Edit: The more I think about this the more I'm not really seeing a downside. I'll be missing a few classes for my major no matter what, so...

Can’t really offer advice on whether or not to drop the summer class, but… can you not enroll in the fall section now regardless? If you stay in the class and fail, you’ll already be enrolled. If you pass, then just drop the fall section when you get your grade. (And option 3 being dropping the class, of course).

That should at least alleviate some of the stress of whatever you decide.

I can’t enroll in the class because it conflicts with the math class I’m already registered for–and the system may not allow me to enroll in a class I’m currently taking anyway.
