Thinking of heading to Grad School for human-computer interaction and user design

I graduated from Pitt with a B.S in Information Science recently. My interests are towards HCI and user design. I have been doing freelance work while searching for a job, but most of the jobs I'm interested in are geared towards those with 5+ years of experience or they ask for a Master's degree. I had a 3.0 GPA when I graduated so I know I'll have to do really well on the GRE in order to have a chance, but I think that getting more real world experience first would help me in getting my foot in the door. The problem is of course is that I only have a bachelor's degree, I do not want to end up in debt, and I do not have a steady job. Also, I am currently living with my parents. While I did volunteer and do research as an undergrad, I did not do any internships.

Currently, I have looked a few schools in my state. I know that Georgia Tech has a program for HCI, but when I checked their site they mentioned that they had graduated only 38 people with a master's degree since 1998 so it seems that they have a high attrition rate. Another school I looked at was Savannah College of Art and Design. I do not have much of a portfolio (for arts at least) and I'm not sure of the reputation of their Interactive Design program in comparison to Georgia Tech's HCI program. Any suggestions?
