Thinking of Transferring?

Hi !

I was accepted to pretty well ranked universities during my senior year of high school, however rather than choosing these top choices who didn't give me as much merit/financial aid, I ended up choosing a safety school that had given me a generous full ride. Ultimately, i'm obviously not coming to terms with my choice and rather transfer to either of the universities I've been accepted to prior.

My question is...because i was accepted in high school and chose not to attend will it give me a better chance at transferring there. Will they have my name on file? Will they offer aid. Will they look at ACT/SAT scores since its only my first semester of college.
PS: The colleges i'm referring to are SU, PITT, Lehigh,Tulane, Tulsa, and Fordham in the spring semester.

Being accepted as a HS senior is not a guarantee of acceptance as a transfer. You will be competing against an entirely different pool of applicants. However, you should feel confident that you should be in the running unless things went really poorly grades wise for you this semester. Most colleges will still want your standardized test scores. Some colleges keep applications on file for a set period of time, most do not. Generally speaking, there is not much in the way of merit money available for transfers, but you still can apply for financial aid. Here is a link to a prior thread with some resources that you may find helpful:

For specifics, read the transfer admissions web pages and financial aid pages on the websites of the schools you are interested in. You may have to call and speak to someone in admissions to see if your prior application (and test scores) will still be on file with them.
