Hey everyone, do you think that it is a good idea to retake the SAT for a third time? I just finished freshman year at a Top 50 LAC college and I was thinking about transferring to schools like Harvard, Yale, Cornell and Columbia.

My scores: 1900: 510CR, 710M, 680W ===> 2100: 650CR, 710M, 740W

I think my very low scores will hurt my application to these schools, but then again I am applying as a transfer student. What do you think?

Thank you.

As a transfer student your low SAT scores will hinder your chances at an Ivy League School, since Ivy League RARELY accept transfers. If you go to a top 50 college, i think you are doing pretty well.

Your third time taking the SAT is a 2nd retake, not 3rd retake.

My friend took it 3 times and it kept on going up

1930 Oct. Junior
2090 March Junior
2220 May Junior

Your friend’s first two scores are similar to mine. It would be fantastic if I could improve to a 2250+ on my second* (thanks rraghuraman) retake.

Go hard or go home.

Your choice.

Really honestly…your fine in my opinion…like once you get over 2100…its all the same…its just a waste of time and money going on and on.
